A note about creation fees – The nominal fee we charge to create a custom session varies in prices based on the frequency of your visit and the level of complexity to complete a portrait session. Each session is conceptualized with your needs in mind. No two sessions are alike and neither is our approach to capturing our subjects. We never take a canned approached to creating your heartfelt images and your session/creation fee enables us to set the scene and props to suit you. Kidz Klub - Documenting your child’s life from birth to graduation. Build a visual legacy album which contains all of your custom portrait creations. To qualify, your infant must be no older than 6 months, a minimum of 3 sessions to be completed in the first year and one session per year on child’s birthday thereafter. Planning for Your Session

 

With the help of our subjects, we can create images that succeed in portraying character, creating mood, or expressing relationships.  That is why we involve you in all aspects of planning your portrait—from determining your photographic needs and artistic desires, through the selection and completion of the final work.

 

Special Considerations for Children

What do you want to get out of the session? We will talk a bit about how you’d like to remember your child at this time of his or her life, and what items, if any, you’ll incorporate into the session. If you have any questions about clothing choices you can ask them now. Talking it through ahead of time lets us create the perfect session.

 

How Long Does It Take?

Sessions typically last from 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the subject. While we are happy to take our time and provide clients with an enjoyable and unhurried experience, there is a limited window of opportunity when your child is still fresh and “into” the session. Please arrive no more than ten minutes before your appointment time, so that we can begin immediately, and capture all of the initial energy your child brings. Many clients choose morning sessions because that is when their children are at their best.

 

What to Wear

Make sure your clothing color and style choices are simple and classic. Avoid bold stripes, plaids, checks, and busy prints. Turtle necks or V-necks are flattering, as are long-sleeved shirts.

 

For Black & White Portraits — Medium to dark tones of brown, rust, burgundy, green, or blue always photograph well.  Adults should wear dark bottoms to coordinate with dark tops.

 

Clothing For a Family Group — Coordination is critical.  Choose clothing in the same tonal ranges so that no single member of the family stands out.           

 

Clothing for Children —When it comes to newborns, less is more. For babies up to three months old, we suggest no clothes at all. We’d rather capture the charm of this adorable age — from tiny toes and fingers, to belly button or bare bottom — than cover it up! If you do opt for clothing, select solid colors – one-piece outfits with no collars and no sleeves, or socks. After six months, simple is still best; this allows the focus to be on your child. Other possible items to bring are a cute hat, a favorite toy, or even a family heirloom. 

 

Making Your Selections

After the session, we will set up an appointment to view your previews in the studio. When you come in, we will project your portrait previews on a large screen so that you can see even the smallest detail of each image.  We will be there to help you make your selection and to explain how we complete the finished image with retouching and artwork. The studio carries a full selection of custom frames to work in tandem with your photographs, the result of which is a completed photo display.

 

Studio Policies

 

  • The portrait session fee is payable at the time of the photographic session.
  • The results of your portrait session will be viewed in the studio. At that time, we will help you determine which portrait sizes and finishes will best suit your needs.
  • Because portraits are a custom product, a minimum deposit of 60% of the amount of the order total is requested when the order is placed.
  • Visa and MasterCard are accepted for both deposits and final payments.
