Today she will dance and rejoice
Tina is a survivor of one of life's nasty and unexpected turns. Early diagnosis gave this determined, strong tiger-mom, the will to face breast cancer in the face and say NO! Her year of treatments and recovery are nearly at an end. She can dance and rejoice with her blessed babies and say it was worth the fight.
I've named this style of portraits , created in the studio, the "Celebrate Life" series. It is a fitting representation of what life feels like to a Wife and Mother of four. Nothing pretentious, nothing scripted nor perfectly staged, for as we know, life is like a fast moving train. We ride along at Acela like speeds and sometimes the train breaks down at a stop far away from our desired destination. We must make adjustments and repairs, get back on that train and carry on.
Every time I look at this series I feel the love and energy of living life for today, with all it's imperfections AND in spite of it all - rejoicing. Decorating with portraits are daily reminders to live, laugh and love.
"The pictures were posted at just the right time to remind me of all I have and how far I’ve come...literally made my heart tingle!"These are amazing Areti Bratsis! Thank you for capturing this time in our life. So much to celebrate and be grateful for!!!! They are my strength, my blessings and my reasons to fight😘. And we love a good dance party! The bottom right is so us😉Breast cancer may have changed me in many ways but not the love I have for these kids I am blessed to have and my appreciation for everyday is only stronger.Tina P.
...Just a quick update: Silent Auction item raises $200 for Lupus Foundation! As a portrait artist I know how valuable family portraits are to families. It is a pleasure to donate my services to any charity doing good for others. This portrait of Tina and her little beauties motivated others to make a donation and fight it out for my gift package.
